  1. Saudi Arabiaโ€™s PIF ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ  announced that the King Salman Automotive Cluster ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ at KAEC ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ will contribute SAR 92 billion ($24.5 billion) to GDP by 2035 and host Ceer ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ, Lucid Motors ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ, Hyundai ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท, and Pirelli ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น factories.

  2. Lucid CEO & CTO Peter Rawlinson announced that he wants Lucid ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ to be a 20% car company, 80% tech supplier. He said :"Just as thereโ€™s an Intel inside your laptop, thereโ€™s a Lucid inside a Honda or a Toyota."

  1. Evergrande New Energy Vehicle ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ, a Chinese automobile manufacturer, said it struggles to find investors due to a liquidity crisis, focusing limited funds on basic operations after cutting staff to reduce costs.

  2. Ferrari ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น announced that its first fully electric car will launch in October this year.

  1. GM ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ said it fully acquired Cruise to focus on autonomous tech for personal vehicles, not robotaxis. Super Cruise expansion continues, with 50% staff cuts at Cruise.

  1. Toyota Motor ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต announced that it will create a Shanghai-based ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ company to develop Lexus electric vehicles and batteries, with planned production of 100,000 units yearly starting 2027.

  2. Nissan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต announced it ended merger talks with Honda ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต after rejecting subsidiary status. The company seeks new partners, including Foxconn ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ.

  1. Volvo Cars ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช announced that it acquired Northvolt's ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช 50% stake in Novo Energy battery venture for zero cost, while the future of their planned Gothenburg ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช battery factory remains uncertain.

  2. SEAT ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ announced that it must cut 1,500 jobs and reduce output if the EU does not lower its 20.7% tariff on China-made CUPRA Tavascan EVs by March's end.
